Jewish Museum London is operating as a museum without walls, as we work towards a new permanent home. In the meantime you can find us in a range of places, both in person and online.

Image Licencing

The Jewish Museum London has an extensive range of images relating to Jewish life available for use by third parties. These include photographs, prints and drawings of individuals, community life and institutions, religious objects and practices, and Jewish social history.

There are three elements to charges incurred in using images from our collections:

  • Media fees – cost of providing prints or scans
  • Rights (license) fees – for the right to reproduce and use an image
  • Shipping fees – for postage and packaging, dependent on requirements.

Advance payment of media fees is required before images can be supplied; rights fees must be paid in advance of any usage. All charges are quoted exclusive of VAT, which will be levied as appropriate. VAT is charged on all UK orders and for all EU orders except where a business is VAT registered (proof required). VAT is not charged on international orders outside the EU.

All images must be used with the credit line ‘© Jewish Museum London’ or ‘Courtesy of the Jewish Museum London’

Media fees

Images are usually provided as a reproduction quality CMYK TIFF file on CD or by email. Specific sizes/resolutions can be arranged by request. Low resolution reference JPEG images may be sent to clients to assist in choosing images to be ordered.

We can also provide A4/A3 digital prints from file (B&W or colour). Other print sizes by request only.

Images are usually supplied within 10 working days. Images required in a shorter time frame will incur a rush fee of an additional 50%.

  • TIFF file (average file size c. 25MB): £30
  • A4 digital print: £10
  • A3 digital print: £15

The Jewish Museum only allows reproductions from its own media. No reproduction rights are implied by the provision of images to a third party.

Rights fees

Rights are available for a range of uses, on a per image basis.

All rights are one-time, one edition and non-exclusive (unless otherwise stated).

If you would like to use a Jewish Museum image for a purpose not listed here, please contact the museum for a quote.

Black and white images are charged at the same rate as colour.
