Frequently Asked Questions

Can I come and see the cards?

Unfortunately, physical access to the cards is limited whilst the Museum prepares to relocate to a new permanent location.

Do you have digital copies of these? Can I get a digital copy?

We welcome the use of our collection and archives for your academic, professional and personal research. We have digitised all of the membership cards from our archive, however, we are not able to reproduce all records due to the protection of personal data. Please contact [email protected] to find out more if your request can be delivered.

I recognise a family name. Can I have access to the original card?

As above, all researchers are welcome to contact the Collections team to discuss their request, [email protected]

I don’t recognise my family name, but I think a relative was a member.

Please contact the Collections Team to see if we can help with your request. It may be that we direct you to other sources: [email protected]

Why is there more detailed information about some people and less about others?

Information depends on what was captured by the Workers’ Circle at the time the cards were completed. Unfortunately there are inconsistencies with their record keeping

How do I get in touch?
