On Thursdays and Sundays, the Museum to open to all visitors, you can book your ticket in advance or just turn up on the day. On these days you can join a guided tour or learn how to bake Jewish recipes in our kitchen as well as visiting our galleries.

Museum To Myself

On Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the Museum is only open for specific programmes under Museum to Myself.

Please find the Museum to Myself options below. If your visit is one of these options then follow the link to book for any day of the week Sunday – Thursday: 

Closed for Shabbat

  • Shabbat is a Jewish religious festival that happens every week. Shabbat (the Sabbath) begins at sundown on Friday and ends at sundown on Saturday. The Museum observes Shabbat which is why we are closed on Fridays and Saturdays.

Closed for Jewish Festivals

  • The Museum observes Jewish festivals and we close the Museum on the below holidays.
    • Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New Year
    • Yom Kippur, Day of Atonement
    • Sukkot
    • Simchat Torah and Shemini Atzeret
    • Pesach

Open for Bank Holidays in 2023

  • Easter Monday, 10th April
  • Early May Bank Holiday, 1st May
  • Spring Bank Holiday, 29th May
  • Summer Bank Holiday, 28th August
