Getting crafty – visitors respond to Abram Games’ work
by Alice Quine, Assistant Curator
As part of the museum’s exhibition on graphic designer Abram Games, visitors were encouraged to create their own artworks using paper shapes and pencils, taking Games’ work as inspiration. Here is a selection of my favourite pieces, reflecting the wide range of interpretations created.
Some visitors paid homage to Abram Games and his art
Others took the opportunity to showcase their own artistic skills
With some refusing to be limited by a sheet of paper
A large majority of people chose to highlight their own
political and social beliefs
While others were clearly just thinking about lunch
Many creations could not be defined by category
And some brave individuals used their talents to critique
the exhibition… and pay tribute to some of the more valuable members of museum staff
