Pitch Up: Museum Highlights @ JW3

5 January 2024 - 31 May 2024

NOW ON SHOW AT JW3

Pitch Up: Museum Highlights continues the essence of Jewish Museum London, showcasing six objects from our collection crossing several themes of Jewish heritage and culture.

Inspired by the East End market stalls and with a focus on preserving British Jewish heritage, each #PitchUp stall focuses on one item to take a close look at one topic. Displays include items that used to be on show at our Camden site and those being presented for the first time.

The first six highlighted objects cover the themes of:

  • Kindertransport
  • Holocaust
  • Food
  • Memory
  • Yiddish culture
  • Jewish fashion

Items include a sculpture of Sir Nicholas Winton by Oliver Bloom, a Yiddish typewriter that belonged to playwright, Abish Meisels, barbed wire collected by Leon Greenman from Auschwitz, a 1950s Kossoff Bakery bag, a milliner’s hat mould, and 140 year old nuts from Lithuania.
