Object in Focus: Albert Goodman

Albert Abraham ‘Bert’ Goodman was born in Hackney in 1890 to a Polish family who settled in the London Fields in the 1870s. Albert began his career playing for non League teams before turning professional and joining Tottenham Hotspur in 1919 followed by Charlton Athletic in 1921.

Whether you’ll be joining in with cheering your team on during this summer’s Euros, or would rather get away from the action, be sure to visit this ‘Object in Focus’ where you can see a photograph from Goodman’s youth, hinting at his future potential.
