Grete Rudkin: A Kindertransport child in Enfield
ON DISPLAY AT THE MUSEUM OF ENFIELD
Grete Rudkin: A Kindertransport child in Enfield
Grete Rudkin (nee Glauber) was born in Vienna in 1930. In 1939, her mother Elsa sent Grete to England on the Kindertransport, with help from their Catholic neighbour Marie Miserowsky.
This display celebrates the life of Grete, who made a new life in Enfield and went on to have a successful career as a school teacher. It includes her early school reports, images, and letters tracking her progression from student to teacher.
With thanks to the Museum of Enfield for hosting this display
