I Say British, You Say Jewish

14 January 2024

National Holocaust Centre & Museum

‘I say British, You Say Jewish’ opened ahead of Holocaust Memorial Day on January 27, with the first stop being Swiss Cottage in Camden, followed by Manchester, Nottingham, Wakefield and Birmingham.

It will now be on display at the The National Holocaust Centre and Museum until the end of the summer 2024.

The exhibition has been created in partnership with the University of Nottingham, and includes several loans from the Jewish Museum London.  It explores the distortions in anti-Jewish racism, using images, objects and interactive digital displays to uncover the myths and realities of being Jewish and British.

Jewish Museum London items included in the display are a set of football team kippot, an Amy Winehouse figurine, and a sculpture of Sarah, the East End beigel lady.

The display also showcases images from our Inclusive Judaism library.

This exhibition will be touring the country in a trailer truck. Confirmed locations to date are London, . Check here for updates.
