Jewish Museum Announce 4 week Exhibition in Swiss Cottage Library

Discover Jewish Museum London Exhibition :  7 March to 4 April at Swiss Cottage Library Gallery

Jewish Museum London is delighted to announce a 4-week exhibition about Jewish life in Britain in Swiss Cottage Library Gallery from 7 March to 4 April, by kind permission of Camden Council and Swiss Cottage Library Staff. The displays will tell the story of Jewish life in Britain through key objects from Jewish Museum collections from medieval times to today. Staff and volunteers will also be demonstrating work on the collections archive so that visitors can find out more about the collections at the same time.

“This is the first time the Museum has collaborated with a Camden Council venue to bring Jewish collections to Camden and Greater London residents. We are looking forward to welcoming former regular visitors and lots of local residents, who might never have visited the Museum in the past” said Sue Shave, Acting Director.

“With our new model of operating in the community, the Museum is reaching new audiences through displays of our collections around the UK including Bradford Reform Synagogue, Manchester Jewish Museum and the National Holocaust Centre in Nottingham, as well as several community and heritage venues around Greater London. We are proud to share our collections with Jewish and non Jewish communities, and to find new ways to tell our stories” said Nick Viner, Chair of Trustees

“Camden Council have been proud supporters of the Jewish Museum for many years and are delighted to host exhibitions this year in Council venues such as Swiss Cottage Library Gallery. Camden is home to London’s third largest Jewish Community and it is so important, in these difficult times, to have positive representations of our Jewish residents and their significant contribution to British life” said Councilor Richard Cotton, Camden Ward.
