Intern’s Choice: WWI Photograph
We asked our interns to choose their favourite objects in the museum. Juliet chose this photo of the Levy Brothers. All of the brothers served in the First World War but they served in different ways. One served in the Army, one in the Air Service and one in the Home Guard. Each of these services has a different uniform.
The gentleman sat on the bench is Percy Levy. Percy compiled a scrap book called his ‘Book of Life’ which contained photos, postcards and many other objects from WWI. Percy was one of the thousands of Jews who fought in the British army during World War I. Watch this video to find out more about the Levy Brothers in WWI.
