East End Tailor Unions
Many Jewish workers worked in East End Tailoring workshops. The conditions of these workshops were often sweaty, dirty and unsanitary. Pay was often low and working hours were often long. Jewish Taliors’ Union held strikes to try and get their workers better working conditions. These strikes paved the way for working benefits such as lunch breaks, weekends off and insurance.
