Animated Museum: Jack Melnick’s Medal
The Jewish Museum challenged young people to explore an object from our collections as part of the Animated Museum Project. Over the course of a week these teenagers produced short animated films featuring objects from the Jewish Museum and Jewish Military Museum collections.
This film tells us Jack Melnick’s story.
Jack Melnick was a Polish Jewish immigrant soldier who lived in London. He was a father and husband. Shortly after his wife passed away, Jack joined the army. Soon, he too died in World War I. Later, his daughter , Eva, received the British War Medal awarded to her father for his service. Find out more about Jack’s story through this animated film short.
