ON DISPLAY AT BRADFORD REFORM SYNAGOGUE FROM 06/03/2025
For Pesach 2025, we are delighted to present a set of lino prints created by artist Ruth Collet during the 1970s-1990s which were used as place settings during Seder.
Ruth Collet (1915-2007) was a British artist known for her lino cuts and prints, which often focused on biblical stories. Through her art, she explored deep spiritual and emotional themes, transforming complex religious narratives into simple yet powerful visual statements. The sharp contrast of ink on paper, the bold strokes, and her vibrant use of colour help bring the biblical tales to life, adding a dramatic and evocative quality. Many of Collet’s prints feature personal dedications, adding intimacy and inviting viewers into a shared spiritual journey.
This display presents a selection of Ruth Collet’s works from The Jewish Museum collection, offering a chance to explore her unique interpretation of biblical stories.
Bradford Reform Synagogue is open for events, monthly Shabbat services, High Holy Days, and for school visits throughout the year. For up to date information visit the Synagogue’s Facebook page
