24 June @ 2.00 pm - 2.30 pm
Join us to explore stories of refugees and migration from our collection. We will explore stories of individual refugees and communities who have had to flee their homes from the Adeni Jewish community to the story of one Egyptian family. This is an exclusive event for our Friends and Patrons. You can find out more about becoming a Friend here.
Learn what it means to be a refugee and understand the reasons why people might be forced to leave their homes through a guided exploration of one photograph in our collection. We will then share an activity for you to do at home which links to this year’s theme ‘We cannot walk alone.’
Discover the History of Jews in Britain from 1066, a history full of journeys and migration. From a medieval mikvah telling the story of the first Jewish community in Britain to photographs belonging to children who escaped Nazi Germany on the Kindertransport, this virtual tour explores many periods of migration.
