The Parkes Institute for the Study of Jewish-non Jewish Relations at Southampton University, in partnership with the Jewish Museum London, holds a conference on the relationships that museums entertain with communities.
The conference is aimed at museum staff and volunteers, academics, heritage activists and everybody interested in the topic.
An international panel of speakers will explore the many aspects of this fascinating topic, from making programmes that attract diverse audiences to joint projects with community groups, and relationships with donors and sponsors, through lectures, workshops and debates.
The conference focuses primarily on Jewish museums, but the speakers will draw from their experiences in Jewish and other museums, and many topics are relevant to museums in general. Registration for this event is through the Parkes Institute.
