Acting Director for the Jewish Museum London
Sue Shave has been appointed as Acting Director for Jewish Museum London from 1 November 2022 after the departure of the previous Director Frances Jeens, who is now Head of Education and Engagement at UK Parliament. Sue has 32 years experience in the independent Museum and Heritage sector, with 20 years in Museum Director roles in 3 museums, including Coldharbour Mill, Chiltern Open Air Museum and Discover Bucks Museum. She has managed and fundraised for several large capital projects, including most recently completing the £1.2 million new Discover Bucks Galleries at Discover Bucks Museum and has significant experience of running NPO funded organisations. Sue also has her own business as a Heritage Consultant and also works with other museums to support their fundraising, project management and LGBTQ histories.
Chair Nick Viner said, “Sue really believes in the work of the Jewish Museum and shares our values. We are delighted that she has come to join us and we believe she will be a very good fit for this role and for the Museum. The board would like to thank previous Museum Director Fran Jeens for her immense contribution to the Museum and are delighted that she is now a Trustee.”
