Curatorial Team Internship

We have an intern placement available within the Curatorial team at the Jewish Museum London, starting from the beginning of September 2019.

The Curatorial team is at the heart of the Museum, working to bring our noted collections and a vibrant programme of temporary exhibitions to our diverse audiences.

Our permanent galleries share the history and culture of Jews in Britain and display one of the most important collections of Jewish ritual objects in the world. We are a vital resource for academics, authors and researchers. Our critically-acclaimed temporary exhibitions programme covers a wide range of topics such as fashion, art, music, photography, comics and design, as well as thoughtful and thought-provoking surveys tackling difficult subjects.

We offer a hands-on internship for current or recent graduate students to benefit from practical experience in a specific area of museum work. Our internship programme provides the opportunity to learn about the operations of a non-profit cultural institution and work closely with a small Curatorial team in an exciting and friendly organisation.

Applicants should have an interest in museum collections, exhibitions and/or curating, excellent writing and research skills and a can-do attitude. Some knowledge of British-Jewish history and/or Jewish culture will be a bonus.

You are invited to apply for the Curatorial Internship on a temporary basis, for a period of 3 months. The post is 2-3 days per week (Monday to Friday). A flexible approach to working is welcome as some evenings or weekends your help may be appreciated.
