Jewish Museum London appoints two new board members
Lord Young of Graffham, Chairman of the Jewish Museum London, announces the appointment of two new members of the museum’s Board of Trustees;Emily King and Julia Hobsbawm OBE.

Through our ambitious exhibitions and public programming we are increasingly building our profile and impact. Emily and Julia both bring a wide range of talents and new expertise and we look forward to working with them on the future development of the museum.”
Julia Hobsbawm said:
“I could not be more honoured or delighted to be joining the Board of the Jewish Museum at this time. The story of what British Jews contribute to national life in everything from business and politics to culture is one which the museum is uniquely placed to explore, and to celebrate.”

“As a Camden resident of twenty years, I have long seen the Jewish Museum as a local treasure. It is close at hand, yet it has the potential for global impact. In the current political climate, the museum’s appetite for ambitious intellectual debate, matched with its tolerance and kindness makes it ever more vital.”
Julia Hobsbawm is an expert on connectedness in modern working life. A prominent entrepreneur, media commentator and international speaker for corporate audiences, she has emerged as a leading voice on the future of the workplace, Social Health and behavioural networks; how best to use social network science to enhance productivity, engagement and talent management. Julia founded the pioneering knowledge networking firm Editorial Intelligence in 2005. She was made the world’s first professor in Networking in 2011 and is Honorary Visiting Professor at Cass Business School in London and at the University of Suffolk. She was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list in 2015.
Emily King is a London-based design historian with a specialism in graphic design. She earned her PhD in 1999 with a thesis addressing the design of type in wake of the digital revolution. Since then she has written, curated and lectured. Her books include monographs on Peter Saville, M/M Paris and the legendary 1950s art director Robert Brownjohn. Among her exhibitions is ‘Quick, Quick, Slow: graphic design and time’, which she curated for the Lisbon design biennial Experimenta, and monographic shows on Alan Fletcher and Richard Hollis. She has contributed to numerous magazines including Frieze, Fantastic Man, The Harvard Design Review and Apartamento.
