Designs on Britain explores the major contribution of Jewish émigré designers to 20th century British design and demonstrates how much of the most iconic British design of the period was produced by immigrants to this country.
Showcasing the work of approximately 20 designers including Dorritt Dekke, FHK Henrion and Hans Schleger, 'Designs on Britain' encompasses graphic design, product design, corporate identity, and retail design.
20th century design in the UK was profoundly shaped by the arrival of pioneering designers from continental Europe who brought with them a knowledge of European modernism. They radically transformed the practice and language of British design.
Designs on Britain is organised in collaboration with the University of Brighton Design Archives.
